Quick start guide
Overview
This quick start guide walks you through the entire journey, from being a visitor at Cobo to becoming a free trial user and eventually a paid customer.
General setups
Start free trial, create a Cobo Account, and create an organization
- Go to cobo.com, then click Start trial.
- Enter your Email, Name, and Company Name, then click Sign up.
- On the Sign Up page, confirm your Email, then click Continue.
- On the Password page, enter your Password and Confirm Password, then click Continue.
- On the Email Verification page, enter the verification code sent to your email address, then click Continue.
- On the Google Authenticator page, follow the on screen instructions to download and install Google Authenticator, scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, and enter the Google Authenticator code, then click Submit.
- On the Almost There! page, enter an organization name, a Promo Code (Optional), then click Get Started.
- On the Congratulations! Page, review the information and check the checkboxes, then click Confirm.
Set up Cobo Guard
- On the Welcome to Cobo Portal page, click Go next to Set Up Cobo Guard to open the Log In page of Cobo Accounts.
- Enter the Email and Password you used to sign up for the free trial, then click Log In.
- On the Cobo Accounts page, click MFA Management, then click Set up next to Cobo Guard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and download Cobo Guard, then click Continue.
- On the Set Up Cobo Guard page, tap on your Cobo Guard app, then scan the QR code with your Cobo Guard.
- On your Cobo Guard, you will see a Link Cobo Accounts page. Click Link.
- You have now successfully linked Cobo Guard. On your computer, click Continue on the Successful page to go back to the Cobo Accounts page.
Specific setups
Setups for treasury management users
Create an MPC Wallet (Organization-Controlled Wallet)
- Go to the Welcome to Cobo Portal page, then click Go next to Create an MPC Wallet.
- Click Create Vault to create a vault. For more information, see Create an MPC vault.
- Click Create Main Group to create a Main Group. For more information, see Create a Main Group and follow the Mobile Co-Signer route.
- Create a wallet. For more information, see Create an MPC Wallet.
After completing step 3, a default wallet would have been automatically created.
Make transactions
- Now that your MPC Wallet is ready, you can start making transactions. To make a deposit, see Deposit from external wallets.
There’s no need to set up transaction policies as instructed in Deposit from external wallets at this stage when you are just trying out the feature. When you are ready to scale, ensure to set up appropriate transaction policies.

Create other types of wallets and make transactions
At this point, you’ve already set up a basic MPC Wallet and created a transaction as a treasury management user. Cobo offers 4 types of wallets in one platform. You can experiment with creating different types of wallets and create transactions from them using the resources in the following table.
