To use Cobo Portal Mobile, your device must have a screen lock enabled. Make sure the screen lock stays enabled — disabling it will prevent you from using Portal Mobile.
This guide describes how users provisioned by Cobo Sales can complete first-time setup in Cobo Portal Mobile (hereinafter referred to as Portal Mobile), covering sign-in, device binding, organization selection, and MPC Wallet initialization. Portal Mobile does not provide registration for new accounts or organizations. To request access, contact Cobo Sales.
The current feature set of Portal Mobile is limited and primarily covers account and device initialization, asset viewing, transfers, and approvals on mobile. More management and operations features (such as members and roles management, risk control configuration, API Keys, billing and plan management, and so on) are available only via the desktop Cobo Portal web version (https://portal.cobo.com).
This setup flow is for eligible new users only. Cobo Portal Mobile is currently available only to new users and organizations provisioned by Cobo Sales that have never been bound to Cobo Guard. If your account was previously bound to Cobo Guard, you cannot complete this setup flow. Portal Mobile will not let you bind your device, generate key shares, or migrate from Cobo Guard. Existing Cobo Guard users must continue using Cobo Guard and wait for the official migration path. For details, see Migrate from Cobo Guard.

Step 1: Set up the device screen lock and biometrics

When you first open Portal Mobile, if your device does not yet have a screen lock, Portal Mobile prompts you to set one up:
  1. Set up a PIN, pattern, or password for your device.
  2. We recommend also enabling biometrics (Face ID or fingerprint) for faster and more secure access to Portal Mobile.
  3. Once done, return to Portal Mobile to continue.

Step 2: Log in to your account

On the login page, choose a login method:
  • Continue with Google: Log in with your Google account.
  • Continue with Apple: Available on iOS. You can use an Apple private relay address if you choose to hide your email.
  • Continue with email: Enter the email address of your provisioned account, then sign in with a password or email verification code. Portal Mobile does not create an account if the email has not been provisioned.
For details about Apple private relay addresses, email verification codes, and login method management, see Sign in to Cobo Portal Mobile.

Step 3: Bind this device

After logging in, Portal Mobile guides you to bind the current device as a trusted device for your Cobo Portal account. Once bound, this device can:
  • Generate key shares and create MPC Wallets;
  • Perform identity authentication (MFA);
  • Receive and handle approval requests.
Steps:
  1. On the Bind this device page, read the instructions and select the confirmation checkbox (uninstalling Portal Mobile will clear the key shares on this device, and you will need to re-bind a device and restore the shares).
  2. Tap Bind device.
  3. Portal Mobile sends a 6-digit verification code to your login email. Enter the code you receive on the Verify email page.
    If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder, or tap Resend.
  4. Once verification succeeds, device binding is complete.

Step 4: Select an organization

After signing in, select the organization that Cobo Sales has provisioned for you. If your account has only one organization, Portal Mobile may open it directly.
If no organization is available, contact Cobo Sales or Cobo Support to confirm the provisioning status. Portal Mobile does not support self-service organization creation.

Step 5: Automatically generate your wallet and key shares

After you select an organization, follow the in-app flow to initialize your wallet. This process includes three steps:
  1. Create the main vault: Set up your first vault.
  2. Generate key shares: Generate and save your key shares on this device.
  3. Create the MPC Wallet: Create the first wallet under the new vault.
Do not leave or close Portal Mobile while key shares are being generated.
When the process completes, you will see a message that your key shares are ready. Tap Continue to proceed to backup setup.

Step 6: Back up your key shares

After your key shares are generated, back them up as soon as possible. Without a backup, your assets may become permanently unrecoverable if your device is lost or replaced. For detailed backup steps, refer to Generate and back up your key shares. Once the backup is complete, you can start using Portal Mobile for mobile asset and approval operations. For day-to-day usage, refer to Use and manage Cobo Portal Mobile; for more advanced management operations, use the desktop Cobo Portal web version.
